The Clipp® dummy
Clipp® is the only dummy on the market equipped with a system for a gentle, effective and guaranteed weaning off dummy use, at the child’s own pace. CE-certified and Bisphenol-A (BPA)-free, the Clipp dummy ensures children’s safety and well-being while encouraging a gentle weaning process.
Clipp: An innovative orthodontic dummy
Clipp is a dummy that has been specially designed to make weaning easier. It features five stackable shields, which gradually reduce the size of the sucking teat.
The Clipp kit includes:
- a BPA-free, CE-certified dummy,
- five weaning shields,
- instructions for use,
- a fun calendar to download,
- an award certificate to print out.
Clipp is the result of seven years of research and development. Its designer, Arnaud Biezanek, has worked tirelessly to create an effective and safe weaning dummy. After several prototypes and tests, Clipp was patented in 2024.

How does the Clipp® dummy work?
Here’s how it works:
Discovery phase: The child begins to use Clipp without any extra shields. This initial phase allows them to get used to the new dummy without any major changes.
Adding shields: Every week, a new shield is added to the base of the dummy. They stack up and gradually reduce the size of the sucking teat. Each additional shield makes the dummy slightly harder to use, encouraging the child to suck less frequently.
Reducing sucking: As the shields are added, the sucking teat becomes smaller and smaller, making the dummy less appealing to the child. This gradual reduction encourages children to give up the dummy on their own, without frustration.
“The dummy slowly becomes more complicated to use… The child will gradually stop using the dummy of their own accord until they stop for good” ”
The shields have a patented locking system that cannot be removed once it is in place. This ensures that the shields cannot be removed by the child, ensuring their safety throughout the weaning process.
The entire weaning process with Clipp generally takes about a month. However, this period can be adjusted depending on the child’s reaction and comfort. Parents can adapt the rate at which the shields are added to suit their child’s needs.

What are the benefits of weaning with Clipp?
The Clipp dummy offers significant benefits for children’s orthodontic and psychological development. After the age of 2 or 3, prolonged use of a dummy can cause problems with oral development.
From an orthodontic point of view, gradually stopping dummy use allows the tongue to be placed correctly, helping to widen the palate and align the teeth properly. This reduces the risk of malocclusions and future orthodontic and speech therapy needs. Problems with swallowing, chewing and phonation are also limited.
Psychologically, Clipp acts as a transitional object, helping children to overcome their anxieties. Gradual weaning allows you to maintain a degree of control over the situation, reinforcing your child’s sense of security. By involving the child in the weaning process, Clipp avoids replacing one addiction with another, such as the thumb, while strengthening the child’s independence and self-confidence.
Clipp, more than just a weaning dummy
The Clipp kit is designed to make weaning off the dummy fun and educational. As well as the dummy and shields, the kit includes detailed instructions for use, a calendar and a certificate.
The calendar allows families to follow weaning progress and plan when to add shields. Each day, the child can tick a box or stick a sticker on the calendar to show how far he or she has progressed towards giving up the dummy for good.
The reward certificate is an extra incentive for the child. At the end of the weaning process, they receive a certificate celebrating their success. This strengthens their sense of achievement and pride, and marks an important stage in their development.
